The MSU Bug House held its Holiday Open House on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015. Over 230 visitors interacted with the live and displayed insects and stopped by for educational activities in the classroom next door. The crowd was an all-time high attendance for the Holiday Open House. A reporter and photographer were there from the Lansing State Journal, and published a write-up about the event: “Bug House draws crowds to meet critters.”
Visitors came from as far away as New York, Connecticut, Ontario and elsewhere, many visiting family in the area for the holidays. One family drove up from Findlay, Ohio, specifically so their son Mason, who loves bugs, could celebrate his birthday here. Everyone had a wonderful time and volunteers Gary Parsons, Patricia and Steven Nichols, Rose Borror, Beauchamp Thomas and Joseph Lonchar report there were plenty of compliments and thank-yous for the event.
The Bug House will continue offering evening open houses the second Monday of the month from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
