Chunk Nibbles recognized as the MSU Product Center’s 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year
This award recognizes business success and a commitment to charitable giving.
The 2024 Michigan State University Product Center Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented to Chunk Nibbles, owned and operated by Brad and Katie Cocklin. The prestigious MSU Product Center award recognizes entrepreneurs who have achieved extraordinary success in their business and community. The award was presented on stage during the annual Making It In Michigan Conference and Trade Show held April 24 at the Lansing Center.
Chunk Nibbles is a sweet, salty, crunchy, gourmet snack mix made in small batches with quality ingredients in Troy, Michigan. The original recipe for the snack began with Brad’s grandmother, Cuddy, and it is still being enjoyed, cherished, and shared three generations later. Cuddy’s original recipe included a perfect combination of pretzels, corn squares, walnuts, and salty peanuts all coated and held together with a sweet, delicate, and light coating.
Brad founded Chunk Nibbles in 2018 and the family-owned business has expanded its brand and product line beyond Cuddy’s original mix to several varieties of seasonal and year-round snack mixes. Becky DeYoung, Product Center innovation counselor commented, “Brad and Katie are true entrepreneurs. They strive to live their ultimate dream of success. They have been a joy to work with and watching this brand grow is the epitome of ‘Making It In Michigan’”.
Beyond business success, Chunk Nibbles believes in charitable giving. Chunk Nibbles partners with Blue Star Service Dogs, a nonprofit organization that rescues and trains shelter dogs to be service dogs for military veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). A portion of every unit sold helps fund Blue Star’s mission, “Rescuing One to Heal Another”.
