Professor Bridget Behe, Ph.D. was selected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) as the 2024 B.Y. Morrison Memorial Lecturer.

ARS established the B.Y. Morrison Lecture in 1968 to honor the memory of Benjamin Y. Morrison (1891-1966) and to recognize scientists who have made outstanding contributions to ornamental horticulture and other environmental sciences -- to encourage the wide application of these sciences, and to stress the urgency of preserving and enhancing natural beauty.  The B.Y. Morrison Memorial Lecturer award includes a financial honorarium as well as a medallion and plaque.

Dr. Behe will present (virtually), to ARS staff on May 14, 2024 at 2:00 EST, an overview of her work as it relates to ornamental horticultural science, and that preserves and enhances natural beauty.  ARS will feature Dr. Behe on their ARS Memorial Lectureships page[1], and record a video interview with her.  Finally, she becomes part of a prestigious cohort of ARS Memorial lecturers, including James Luby (2023), Bernadine C. Strik (2022), Penelope Perkins-Veazie (2021), John M. Dole (2020), Mary Meyer (2019), Sir Peter Crane (2018), Frank G. Zalom (2017), and others[2].
