Interesting Experience in Forestry

My most interesting forestry experience is probably my first one, when I did my second year of Americorps National Civilian Community Corps, I was chosen to be on what they called the forest teams. These teams work directly with the US Forest Service for their Americorps team. I fell in love with what I was doing in the program and decided I wanted to do that for the rest of my life!

Why did you choose forestry?

I chose forestry because I knew from a very young age that sitting behind a desk was not an option for me.

Career Goals

My current career goals are to work for the forest service in North Carolina after I graduate from college.

Advice for New Forestry Students

Network Network Network! The forestry community is very small. I've gotten so many amazing opportunities because I've asked questions and have taken the time to make personal connections with fellow classmates, advisors, and professors here at MSU and other people along the way. I feel as an active member of Forestry Club and current president I have to say, Join the Forestry Club! It's honestly been such an amazing thing to be a part of here!

Additional Comments

A big thank you to my family friends and all the amazing staff faculty and advisors that I have come to know at MSU, for your support as I pursue a bachelor's degree in forestry!
