Horrocks & Co. in Battle Creek and MSU Product Center celebrate National Small Business Week by featuring new Michigan-made food products

In recognition of National Small Business Week, Horrocks & Co. based in Battle Creek, Michigan, has partnered with the Michigan State University Product Center and MSU Extension to introduce a selection of new packaged food products made by emerging Michigan-based brands. The collaboration highlights Horrocks & Co.’s ongoing commitment to supporting small businesses, food entrepreneurs and local agricultural producers.

All newly featured products are made in Michigan and represent new and growing food businesses that have worked closely with the MSU Product Center to develop, launch and scale their products. These items are now available for purchase at Horrocks & Co. in Battle Creek, offering customers an opportunity to support local entrepreneurs while enjoying high-quality Michigan-made foods.

“At Horrocks & Co., we are a popular destination for anyone seeking fresh, locally sourced products. We’re proud to offer a variety of healthy, sustainable products that are as good for you as they are for our communities,” said Byron Parker, operations manager. “This year, we are excited to onboard five new brands and highlight their products during National Small Business Week. We are proud to provide a retail platform that helps these entrepreneurs reach new customers.”

The five new brands that are now available at Horrocks & Co. in Battle Creek, MI are:

National Small Business Week was first established in 1963 during President John F. Kennedy’s administration to recognize the vital contributions of small businesses to the U.S. economy. Since its inception, the observance has grown into a nationally recognized celebration, with organizations across the country hosting events, educational workshops, and award ceremonies that honor entrepreneurs and business innovators. The week serves as an annual reminder of the entrepreneurial spirit that has fueled economic growth since the nation’s founding and continues to strengthen communities today.

National Small Business Week 2026 will take place May 3–9.
