Horticulture Graduate Student Earns 3rd Place at National Professional Oral Competition
Caleb Spall placed 3rd in the American Society for Horticultural Science Floriculture Graduate Student Oral Presentation Competition
Earlier this month at the ASHS annual conference, Caleb Spall received 3rd place in the Floriculture Graduate Student Oral Presentation Competition. Caleb is a graduate student pursuing his M.S. degree in Horticulture working with Dr. Roberto Lopez. He presented his research titled “Manipulating supplemental radiation quality to improve time to flower and finished quality of several long-day specialty cut flowers.” The objectives of this research was to quantify the influence of supplemental lighting radiation quality on time to flower and harvest and stem quality of several cold-tolerant long-day specialty cut flower genera.
