PhD student and U.S. Fisheries and Wildlife employee Molly Good will be spreading the gospel of fly fishing through the social media today for the groups #FishLikeaGirl campaign with a live Facebook event at 2:30 p.m. EST (11:30 a.m. PT). The feature will be on the USFWS Pacific Region Facebook page.
"I'll be highlighting my love of fishing, my "story" of how I got into fishing, and some tips and tricks for other people (mainly females) to become involved in fly fishing in general," Good said. She's
a fish and wildlife biologist in the Ecological Services branch of the Washington Fish and Wildlife Office in Lacey, WA.
She'll be available to answer questions online. Good has been a leader in MSU Fly Gals -- a program underwritten by the Boone and Crockett Club to foster a love, understanding respect of fly fishing and outdoorswomanship
The women, under the careful eye of fly fishing master Tom Sadler, learn the basics of the gear, the craft and the cast. A two-year program, it is followed by a float trip down the north branch of the AuSable River.
