Following the launch of the MSU Pesticide Safety Webinar Series: The RUP/CCA Credit Clinic in 2025, the Michigan State University (MSU) Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) is pleased to return with a new series of online educational sessions for the 2026–2027 season.

This live webinar series will run throughout fall 2026 and winter 2027 with a total of 10 webinars delivered via Zoom. Presentations are designed to provide pesticide applicators and certified crop advisers (CCAs) with convenient access to timely information on pesticide safety, application practices, regulatory requirements and emerging pesticide-related issues while offering opportunities to earn restricted use pesticide (RUP) credits and continuing education units (CEUs).

Subject matter experts including specialists, educators, industry professionals and regulatory experts will share practical information that participants can apply in their pesticide application programs. Topics throughout the series include pesticide safety, application technology, integrated pest management, regulatory compliance, certification updates, environmental protection, Bulletins Live! Two and Endangered Species Act requirements, and other pesticide-related issues.

The RUP/CCA Credit Clinic is designed to make recertification and continuing education more convenient while helping participants stay current on safe pesticide handling and application practices, Michigan pesticide requirements, federal regulations and other issues affecting pesticide applicators and advisers.

The fully online format allows participants to join from anywhere, interact with instructors, and ask questions during live presentations. The series provides an accessible opportunity for pesticide applicators in Michigan and participating New England states to earn RUP credits, and for CCAs to earn CEUs while strengthening their knowledge of pesticide safety and regulatory responsibilities

RUP credit opportunities across multiple states

Restricted use pesticide recertification credits are available to applicators in seven states.

Michigan RUP credits: Michigan pesticide applicators can earn RUP credits through these live webinar sessions, with opportunities for commercial and private applicators. Credit categories vary by session.

New England states RUP credits: This year, the series also offers expanded opportunities for applicators outside Michigan. RUP credits have been approved for Connecticut and Vermont, and applicators in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island are eligible to receive credit through their state’s reciprocity process. A certificate of attendance will be provided to support credit verification where required.

CCAs CEUs: Certified crop advisers can also earn CEUs through the webinar sessions. Available CEUs vary by session. Participants who do not need continuing education credits are invited to attend free of charge for information only.
