PRCI's Funding Extension: Accelerating Progress Towards Food Security Goals

EmailPRCI has received a two-year extension to May 2026, enhancing research, capacity building, and partnerships to tackle global food security challenges.
We are delighted to announce that the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Security Policy Research, Capacity, and Influence (PRCI) has been awarded a two-year funding extension through May of 2026. This extension will allow FSG, working with its partners, to consolidate the gains achieved over the past five years in research and policy engagement and enhance the sustainability of our partners’ efforts to do applied policy research with impact. As we did during PRCI’s first five years, we will focus on:
- Institutional Capacity Building: PRCI will intensify its efforts to strengthen the capacity of local policy research organizations. Through targeted training programs, mentorship initiatives, and direct financial support, we will continue to empower these organizations to conduct high-quality research and effectively influence food security policy at local, national, and regional levels.
- Research Excellence: The extension of funding will enable PRCI and its partners to expand its research portfolio and delve deeper into critical issues affecting food security. By investing in cutting-edge research initiatives and fostering collaboration among researchers from diverse backgrounds, we aim to generate innovative solutions that address the multifaceted challenges of food insecurity.
- Partnership Development: PRCI recognizes the importance of forging strategic partnerships with stakeholders across the food security landscape. With the extension of funding, we will actively engage with regional and continental bodies, government agencies, academic institutions, and civil society organizations to amplify the impact of our work. By leveraging collective expertise and resources, we can drive meaningful change and build a more resilient food system.
- Knowledge Sharing: PRCI is committed to promoting knowledge exchange and dissemination within the food security community. Through research conferences, capacity-building workshops, and digital platforms, we will facilitate the sharing of research findings and their influence on policy in the countries we work in.
- Sustainability: As we extend our funding horizon, PRCI remains steadfast in its commitment to sustainability. By investing in the long-term capacity of local partners and fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, we can ensure that our efforts yield lasting benefits for generations to come.
