STAAARS plus fellows from Nigeria/PiLAF give presentation on COVID-19 resilience
PRCI STAAARS+ fellows from the Innovation lab for Policy Leadership in Agriculture and Food Security presented finding on COVID-19 resilience
August 24, 2022, a stakeholder policy outreach event was presented by the Structural Transformation of African and Asian Agriculture and Rural Spaces (STAAARS+) fellows from the Innovation lab for Policy Leadership in Agriculture and Food Security (PiLAF) at the University of Ibadan. The STAAARS+ program is a part of the capacity building aspect of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Security Policy, Research, Capacity, and Influence (PRCI).
The presentation on the topic of "Resilience to COVID-19 and Insecurity Shocks: Evidence from Nigeria" was given by Nathaniel Siji Olutegbe, Benjamin Olusegun Oyelami and Iredele Emmanuel Ogunbayo. The event was moderated by Martina Occelli and Justin Kappiaruparampil, assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics (AFRE). It was well attended, with 31 participants and an active question and answer session after the presentation. PRCI is committed to strong research with policy impact, developed and led by in country partners like PiLAF. The STAAARS+ program builds the capacity of early career scholars in low- and middle-income countries to produce high quality policy driven research that can transform agrifood systems.
