Ali’s academic background lies in the molecular taxonomy of plant-parasitic nematodes, and he has made significant contributions to the field by describing several new species. This experience has provided him with a strong foundation in understanding the diversity and evolutionary relationships among various nematode species.

In May 2022, Ali joined Michigan State University as a postdoctoral research associate. His work involves identifying nematodes in agricultural fields and implementing sustainable solutions to address infestations. Currently, his primary focus is on managing plant-parasitic nematodes in cherry and sugar beet crops, where he is dedicated to creating efficient and environmentally responsible approaches for nematode control in agricultural production.
