Blessing Agada
Research interest: Soil Physics, Productivity
Research Supervisors: Dr. Agber Philip and Dr. Sieglinde Snapp (MSU)
Semesters at MSU: Spring and Fall 2018
In January 2018, Mrs. Blessing Agada arrived at MSU. Dr. Sieglinde S. Snapp, Department of Plant Soil and Microbial Sciences was her MSU supervisor.
On March 31, 2018, Mrs. Agada and 2 other scholar made presentations at African Graduate Students Association (AGSA)’s annual conference at Michigan State University. The title of her presentation was: “Initial influence of erosion on some selected physiochemical soil properties, on the growth and yield of Maize (Zea mays)”.
During Summer 2018, Mrs. Agada returned to Nigeria. She engaged in data collection and started a project to dig profile pits to determine the soil productivity and possibly the soil type. Using training received at MSU and equipment secured, she started collecting data on soil characteristics with her students during this reporting period. This work is expected to serve as a long term experiment. Mrs. Agada completed her internal exit seminar, (5th of July, 2017) before faculty members and students of the College of Agronomy and the University community, and she is presently working on her dissertation, preparing for her final external defense.
