Charlotte Rapids
Charlotte Rapids is a Community Nutrition Instructor at Michigan State University Extension in Wayne County.
Charlotte works with community members of all ages facilitating nutrition, physical activity and gardening educational programming through the SNAP-Ed grant. Along with providing direct education, Charlotte works with community partners by coaching them in making healthy, personalized, sustainable changes at their sites through Policy, Systems and Environmental change work. Charlotte specializes in coaching her partners in the creation, expansion and invigoration of edible gardens to provide fresh produce to their community members and participants. Charlotte has presented during multiple webinars and conferences discussing the importance of building trusting, meaningful partnerships enforcing the success of policy, system and environmental changes.
Prior to her work at Extension, Charlotte worked for four years internationally as a Head English as a Second Language Kindergarten Teacher. She also has several years’ experience working at Urban Farms in Detroit and Bloomfield Hills.
