Eva Nyerges
Eva Nyerges serves as the Evaluation Specialist for the Great Lakes Midwest Regional Food Business Center within the Center for Regional Food Systems. In this capacity, she provides overall leadership for and conducts evaluation and monitoring activities within the GLM-RFBC. Prior to joining the CRFS, Eva earned her doctorate in Social Work from the University of Louisville where she conducted qualitative and quantitative research designed to assess and promote the well-being of refugees, immigrants, and service providers within organizational systems. Before becoming a social worker, Eva obtained a certificate in Organic Farming from MSU and engaged in community-based urban agriculture in Southeast Michigan, where she partnered with local communities to grow local food infrastructure through market expansion, education, and community organizing.
