Powerful Tools for Caregivers is designed to help those caring for adults with chronic conditions or children with special needs deal with stress.

Did you know that one in four people will become caregivers in their lifetime?

Whether caring for a
spouse, partner, family member, friend or neighbor, helping someone close to you with daily activities and medical tasks can be difficult. Caregivers often feel guilty and alone and have increased risk of developing depression. Oftentimes, people don’t get the help they need when dealing with grief, resentment and frustration that comes with caregiving.

During each Powerful Tools for Caregivers class, participants will receive tools to learn how to better take care of themselves. Among the topics covered are:

  • Reducing personal stress.
  • Changing negative self-talk.
  • Communicating your feelings and needs to others.
  • Setting limits and asking for help.
  • Dealing with emotions such as anger, guilt and depression.
"This class provided me with so many resources and tools to move forward as a caregiver. I appreciated the opportunity to take the class online, as it is hard to find someone to stay with my wife so I can leave the house." - Powerful Tools for Caregivers participant
