Summary
This module covers Double Hurdle Models and has two parts:
Part 1: Introduction to Hurdle Models - Theory Basics
Part 2: Double Hurdle Models - Implementation in Stata
Objectives
The general objective of this training module is to provide an overview of hurdle models, situations in which it is appropriate to use them and how to estimate hurdle models in STATA.
The more specific objectives are to:
- Provide a review of corner solutions and how hurdle models address this relative to Tobit models (covered in the previous training module).
- Discuss types of hurdle models
- Demonstrate how to estimate hurdle models in STATA.
- Discuss how to report and interpret the results of hurdle models.
