Module 29: Avoiding Unintentional Plagiarism Part 2
Summary:
This is a two-part series about avoiding unintentional plagiarism. In part two, you will learn about generating citations in various styles and citation-generating software that can help you avoid plagiarizing through improper citations. Part two will also review the ethics of authorship. You will learn about the various contributions that someone can make as a co-author, how to properly credit authors, and how to acknowledge assistance from people that do not meet the authorship criteria. This module contains a video recording of the training session and PDF version of the presented slides. This training session was co-organized by collaborators at the Center for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law/Innovation Lab for Policy Leadership in Agriculture and Food Security (CPEEL/PiLAF, Nigeria), and the Bureau of Macroeconomic Analysis at the Senegalese Agricultural Research Institute (ISRA-BAME).

- Learn how to properly cite your sources to avoid plagiarizing
- Recognize examples of incorrect citations
- Review how to use citation generating software
- Understand what makes someone an author/co-author
- Learn how to acknowledge contributors who are not authors/co-authors
