The VANTAGE newsletter is published for members of the Michigan 4-H Foundation. The 2022 fall edition of VANTAGE features an new endowment for 4-H Exploration Days, trustee and officer elections and other program updates.

Michigan 4-H Foundation funds 4-H statewide learning experience sponsorships
For the 2022-23 program year, the Michigan 4-H Foundation funded sponsorships for 20 statewide 4-H learning experiences totaling $95,503.

Michigan 4-H Foundation mini-grant recipients announced
For the 2022-23 program year, the Michigan 4-H Foundation awarded 4-H mini-grants totaling just under $8,000.

Eppelheimers create fund to support 4-H Exploration Days
One of the country’s largest multi-day 4-H events, 4-H Exploration Days returned for its 51st year in June 2022. A new endowment created by Donald and Linda Eppelheimer will provide 4-H Exploration Days with perpetual funding for years to come.

4-H alumna pursues Fisheries and Wildlife degree to combine passion for animals, conservation and the environment
Lauren Emerick’s 4-H experience led her to pursue a degree combining her interest in animals and a desire to help tackle global environmental challenges.

To truly make a difference while also making a tax-free donation, Michigan 4-H alumni Floyd and Judy Englehardt decided to make an IRA charitable rollover gift to the Michigan 4-H Foundation, also referred to as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD).

MSU Extension receives $1.55M grant to support student mental health and STOP school violence
A $1.55 million grant from the Office of Justice Programs will help MSU Extension provide school communities with training to counter the effects of youth mental health crisis and prevent or reduce instances of bullying.
