About Us
Studies show that future climate and weather variability will challenge the resilience of today’s agriculture. Widespread adoption of regenerative agriculture across Michigan’s 10 million acres of farm land will help mitigate these mounting challenges.
MSU’s new Center for Regenerative Agriculture is focused on research and outreach to help farmers make decisions that will benefit their operations and lead to continued success.
Priorities
- Integrate state-of-the-art field and remote sensing technologies to accurately measure ecological functions, including soil carbon sequestration.
- Examine the linkages between agricultural management, human health and ecosystem functions.
- Develop models to forecast ecological functions and their responses to farm management.
- Understand the relationship between agriculture and social-ecological resilience in rural areas.
- Provide data and insight to inform producers and peer networks of the viability and benefits of regenerative agriculture.
