Michigan 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Certification & Recertification Policies & Application
November 2, 2022
Shooting Sports Instructors follow this Re-Certification Policy.
All 4-H Shooting Sports clubs are supervised by certified 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor. Instructors must become certified in the specific discipline(s) they wish to lead. Disciplines include archery, rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, hunting and wildlife, coordinator and air pistol. Training includes skill development, safety, risk management and appropriate ways to share this content with youth.
To maintain Instructor status, re-certification is required every 3 years. Renewals are automatically awarded if volunteers have used their training with youth and if re-certification application is submitted; this must be completed every 3 years. No further attendance at workshops is required at this time, however, instructors are welcome to repeat workshops for a refresher. The complete policy and application is available at the link below.
