General Info
The MSU Extension 4-H Program in Barry County offers educational and fun opportunities to youth from ages 5-19. Adult volunteers work with youth in many project areas learning life skills, developing self-esteem, confidence, leadership and a sense of community pride. It’s a fact: research from the 4-H Study of Positive Youth Development shows kids who participate in 4-H get better grades, are more likely to go to college, and are more likely to give back to their communities.
In 4-H we are committed to helping young people: connect with positive adult mentors and make new friends in a safe learning environment; take the lead in what they do and how they develop; set the pace of their learning; recognize, understand and appreciate diversity; and become active citizens through their service and leadership. All of these things develop skills that will help them to succeed!
