Overview

The Building Early Emotional Skills (BEES) for Groups (Parents) Online Train-the-Trainer course is an opportunity to learn more about the BEES for Groups (Parents) curriculum and workshop series. This course will give potential facilitators a strong foundation in the BEES history and theoretical framework, adult learning best practices, and in-depth review of the content units. Completion of this course allows participants to access the BEES for Groups (Parents) curriculum materials and implement the BEES for Groups (Parents) workshop series as trained facilitators in their community.

Course Content

The BEES for Groups (Parents) Train-the-Trainer course consists of 4 units. Each unit includes videos, exploratory activities and reading materials. These units are designed to lay a solid foundation of understanding about the BEES for Groups (Parents) curriculum materials, adult learning and BEES for Groups (Parents) implementation.

Course Format

The BEES for Groups (Parents) Train-the-Trainer course is offered as an asynchronous self-paced course. There are no specific deadlines for content completion. The course site will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you are able to login and work on the course content and requirements at your own pace.

Learning content is sequenced so that it is completed in a specific order to build on the previous unit. Learning content is to be completed in the order listed. Once all learning content has been completed, participants will have access to the BEES Facilitator Materials module, which has all the materials needed to run a BEES for Groups (Parents) workshop series.

Course instruction will be provided via Michigan State University's Desire2Learn (D2L) course management interface. Each unit varies around the amount of time it will take to complete. You are required to complete all the units in order to receive a completion certificate and to be able to access the BEES for Groups (Parents) facilitators materials.

Important Information to Know

This course is not eligible for Michigan Registry training credit, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs).

STEP #2: Login to the registration system with your Community ID and Password. Click here to be taken to the registration system.

STEP #3: Follow the instructions to register for the course. Upon registration, you will receive a receipt and instructions for accessing the course.

Once you have registered, you will receive an email with instructions on how to login to the course at https://d2l.msu.edu/. You will use the same login credentials that you set during registration (your NetID is your email address used during registration and use the same password set during registration).
