The Office of Culture Access and Belonging invites the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources community to attend the ODEI First Tuesday Event.

The September ODEI First Tuesday event features Dr. Shandrea Stallworth, Senior Agronomist at Nestle Purina North America.

First Tuesdays 

These monthly discussions are open to all. First Tuesday events are an opportunity to hear from diverse scholars and professionals from the agriculture and natural resources industry, government and higher education disciplines speak about their own career and life paths, as well as their research, work or opportunities in their fields.

Background on Dr. Shandrea Stallworth 

Shandrea Stallworth, Ph.D., is taking a new approach to regenerative agriculture with more than ten years of experience in agronomy and sustainability. Shandrea is a published author who specializes in Weed Physiology with a doctoral degree in Plant and Soil Sciences from Mississippi State University (NASA Graduate Research Fellow), an M.S. in Plant Breeding from Auburn University (LSAMP Bridge to Doctorate), and B.S. in Plant Science & Biotechnology from Fort Valley State University (LSAMP). Shandrea’s expertise is in sustainable row crop and rice production, specifically on small, underserved farms as well as using regenerative practices to reduce carbon footprints. She is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and brings a breadth of knowledge and insight concerning the inner workings of organizations and communities that serve minority, underrepresented groups. Shandrea spends her free time advocating for women in STEM and agriculture through various involvements with organizations such as MANRRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Related Sciences), and she volunteers to support the development of programs to introduce agriculture to underrepresented minority groups. Dr. Stallworth is a Sr. Specialty Agronomist and Regenerative Agriculture Expert for Nestle Purina Petcare where she is responsible for the global implementation and acceleration of regenerative agriculture programs that enable the delivery of Purina’s regenerative agriculture commitments. Most recently, Shandrea was recognized by her alma mater, Fort Valley State University, as a 2024 40 under 40 Alumni for her contributions in research.
