THE EVENT

The School of Planning, Design and Construction at MSU invites students of all SPDC majors and interested stakeholders, alumni, and neighbors of related backgrounds to attend the 2025 SPDC Speaker Series: Red Cedar Renaissance, Perspectives Across Disciplines. The speakers will engage in a moderated panel discussion to share their unique insights on the Red Cedar Renaissance Development Project, from the perspective of their specific area of expertise. This is a unique opportunity to not only learn from the real-world experiences of professionals in your major or area of interest, but also gain an understanding of how different disciplines in the built environment sector interact and work together on major development projects.

THE PROJECT

Located at 203 South Clippert Street in Lansing, MI., the project will bring new life to Michigan Avenue by building a strong connection between Lansing, East Lansing and MSU, according to project lead, PEA Group. Almost 10 years in the making, the $250 million development will include student housing, market-rate apartments, two hotels and an assisted living facility, as well as restaurants, retail space, public park space and a connection to the Lansing River Trail.
