The MSU Extension Health and Nutrition Institute supports an internal taskforce of Extension professionals from different programming teams who are using the 2021 National Framework for Health Equity and Well-Being as a grounding document to guide implementation of various framework recommendations. This taskforce is seeking to understand current staff and organizational capacity to do equity work, perceptions of Extension from those who have been historically excluded from programs, as well as why, when and where program adaptations are happening to ensure programs are culturally relevant and informed.

Referring patients or clients to free, online health classes offered by Michigan State University Extension is just a few clicks away.

Visit the Learn More/Refer to Our Programs webpage to find a listing of health classes available at no cost to Michigan’s residents. All health education in the program referral system is available online. Several programs are also available in-person at community sites. Individuals who complete the referral form are contacted by MSU Extension with upcoming classes and additional information.

MSU Extension offers many programs on chronic pain and chronic disease self-management topics in Spanish available through bilingual Extension Educators. Programs available in Spanish have a separate referral form.
