2026 4-H Equine Communications Contest

The 2026 4-H Equine Communications State Contest will be held on March 14, 2026 in Anthony Hall on campus of Michigan State University. Registration for this contest is free! Registration closes March 11!

2026 4-H Hippology Contest

The 2026 4-H Hippology Contest will be held on April 12, 2026 at the Farm Bureau Pavilion at Michigan State University. Please see the contest rules and registration information below. The registration deadline is to be announced.

Important notes for coaches:

  • Technology use during the contest - Youth will be asked to use their own phone/tablet/iPad to scan QR codes that will take them to their tests. If they do not have a device to use, one will be provided for them. Please remind youth to use their technology responsibly and to only be on the tab they are supposed to be on for the contest; cheating will be grounds for immediate disqualification.

2026 4-H Horse Bowl

Test your Equine Knowledge and participate in the 2026 Michigan 4-H Horse Bowl on Saturday May 9, 2026 on campus at Michigan State University. Teams of 4 individuals compete against other counties for the chance to represent Michigan 4-H at the Eastern National 4-H Round-up in November!

Michigan 4-H State Horse Trail Riding Recognition Program

This statewide initiative recognizes youth who actively participate in trail riding as part of their 4-H horse project. The program encourages consistent riding, skill development, horse conditioning, safety awareness, and lifelong engagement with horses.
