2026-2027 Tuition Rates

Graduate student tuition for the 2026-2027 academic year (fall 2026, spring 2027, summer 2027):

  • Michigan residents: $978.25 per credit-hour
  • Non-Michigan and international residents: $1,814.75 per credit-hour

Note that most MSFRA courses are three credit-hours. 

The program requires 30 credit-hours to complete.

The MSU Board of Trustees announces tuition updates in late June of each year. 

Other Fees

Health Insurance Waiver or Exemption for International Students 

MSU requires international students to carry health insurance while studying in the US. MSU online students can request an exemption to the health insurance requirement by following the instructions at this link:

If you are an international student located in the US, you may be eligible to request a waiver (rather than an exemption) of the MSU health insurance requirement. Information for the waiver can also be found at the link listed above.
