Lodging
Attendees at the 2024 Master Gardener Conference will have access to a variety of discounted lodging. Interlochen's lakeside Stone Hotel, Cabins, Lodges, and Penn Colony units are the perfect locations for attendees. All proceeds from on-campus lodging support student scholarships at Interlochen.
Instructions for reserving lodging at Interlochen will be available for registered attendees on approximately June 5. All registrants will receive an email from braidbet@msu.edu once lodging can be booked at Interlochen. Please know that you are welcome to book lodging at another location on your own if you prefer to stay offsite.
Attendees can immerse themselves in the retreat-like atmosphere of the campus by staying onsite. Several different lodging options will be available, ranging from dorm rooms ($60+), hotel rooms ($99+), studios ($130+), cottages ($175+) and houses ($450). Due to limited space at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, we encourage attendees to share lodging accommodations where possible or forego lodging if you are local. On Campus Lodging
Dorm Rooms
Modern dorm rooms are available in both the Dow House or DeRoy House. Dorm rooms guests need to provide their own linens and towels. Sets are available for rental at a charge of $10.
Opened in 2021, the Dow House is the newest residence hall at Interlochen. These newly built dorm rooms include two twin beds, two desks and shelf units, and private restrooms. Two dorm rooms share a common living and kitchenette room for two dorm rooms. All dorm rooms offer air conditioning and some feature a lake view.
- Lake View Dorms: $75 per night
- Standard Dorms: $65 per night
The Deroy House dorm rooms are equipped with two twin-sized captain beds, desks, dressers, and wardrobes, and a private bathroom. These rooms offer air conditioning.

Dow House
In addition to dorm rooms, the Dow House features studio and 1-bedroom suite lodging options.
The studio and 1-bedroom suites are waterfront and include a furnished patio, as well as air conditioning. The larger suites features a full kitchen, oversize baths, in-room laundry facilities, and an art filled living area with a fireplace.
- Studio Room: $230 per room
- One Bedroom: $300 per room
Stone Hotel
The lakeside Stone Hotel offers comfortable rooms conveniently located at the very heart of Interlochen's campus. Stone Hotel is part of the larger Stone Student Center, giving you easy access to Stone Cafeteria. Guests can choose between mall side or a lakeview. These rooms include air conditioning. The stone hotel does not have an elevator and all rooms are up a flight of stairs.
- Lake View Room: $130 per night
- Standard Room: $99 per night
Immersive Art rooms
These unique rooms within the Stone Hotel feature creative art installations, designed and created by Interlochen student artists. These rooms include a lakeview and air conditioning.

Penn Colony Units
Tucked away from the bustle of campus, our Penn Colony units offer the comforts of a contemporary room while being immersed in the Interlochen experience. Each unit has amenities such as high speed wifi, kitchenette, and are just a short walk from the Interlochen Center for the Arts main campus. These rooms include air conditioning. The executive features a living area, while the one-bedroom features a separate living area.
- Studio (750 Sq ft): $130 per room
- Executive (1200 sq ft): $150 per room
- One Bedroom (1300 Sq ft): $175 per night
Waterfront Cottages
Interlochen's cottages feature 1 or 3 bedrooms, featuring beach access, a kitchen and living room. The larger units also feature a washer/dryer. Most of these units to not have air conditioning.
- One Bedroom: $250 per night
- Three Bedroom: $450 per night
Off Campus Lodging
lf you would rather book lodging now, there are a multitude of options within a 15-25 minute drive. Crystal Mountain Resort is located a short 20 minute drive from Interlochen or you can drive a bit to the North and stay in beautiful Traverse City.
For those traveling in on Thursday, social activities are being planned for the evening directly at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Attendees can also purchase meals not provided as part of Master Gardener Conference through the cafeteria at Interlochen.
