Cody McLaren
Cody McLaren is a Community Nutrition Instructor at Michigan State University Extension. He has worked in this capacity since joining the organization in September 2014.
In this role, Cody specializes in combining hands-on cooking demonstrations, relevant nutritional information, and advanced physical activity concepts. He also helps improve community health needs and initiatives through multi-level programs such as direct education, systematic changes, and community efforts. These programs are open to all eligible youth and adult audiences and support growth and understanding of critical issues facing these audiences.
Prior to joining MSU Extension, Cody was a personal trainer and health coach for special-needs individuals’ full time. He incorporated highly specific and unique goals with a well-rounded personable approach. He is requested to and has still performed these duties in a limited fashion for the past 12 years.
Cody McLaren holds a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology from Lake Superior State University. He also possesses an associate degree as a Health and Fitness Specialist. Cody stays current and knowledgeable for many professional certifications including but not limited to food safety, first aid, and lifesaving protocols.
