Bio
While at CSIS, Junyan Luo's research interests resided in the theory and applications of geographical information systems (GIS) and spatial analysis, especially how to use visual and computational methods to assist and simplify the acquisition, analysis and understanding of geographical information.
One of his current focuses at the Center for Systems Integration and Sustainability is geographical knowledge representation and automated data integration, which seeks to use cutting-edge technologies such as Semantic Web to integrate the diverse sources of information involved in coupled human and natural systems studies.

Geographical information systems, spatial analysis
