Background:

I was born and raised in Northern Michigan. There I attended a community college where I was awarded an associate degree in applied science. Later, I attended Michigan State University where worked in Dr. Gary Roloff’s Applied Forest and Wildlife Ecology lab as well as participated in undergraduate research on bobcats in Southern Michigan. My research consisted of using cover type data, camera trap photos and locations, and spatial analysis tools to predict ideal locations for camera placement to detect bobcats. In 2018, I earned my B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife with a concentration in Wildlife Biology and Management. In addition to my studies, I have spent several years working seasonal positions for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources within various divisions. Given my desire to be a lifelong learner, I am now a first-year master’s student under Dr. Rique Campa. My research will focus on the effects of ungulate browsing on regenerating aspen and Michigan featured wildlife species in the Pigeon River Country State Forest Vanderbilt, Michigan. Outside of my studies, I enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, fishing, and hunting.
