Xiaodong Chen
Bio
Xiaodong Chen is Professor at the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. After receiving his PhD at Michigan State, advised by Jack Liu, he completed his postdoctoral research at Harvard University. He was an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before joining the RCEES. Chen’s research focuses on Coupled Human and Natural Systems, and includes topics such as ecosystem services, nature capital valuation, natural resources management, sustainability science, systems modeling and simulation, remote sensing and GIS. He has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed international journals such as PNAS, Conservation Biology, Ecology and Society.
