Manistique Baseball, Softball and T-Ball 4-H Club Information
Registration for the 2025 season will run March 1-31, 2025
Manistique’s softball and baseball (includes T-ball) teams are part of the Schoolcraft County 4-H program and run by a board of adult 4-H volunteers. Registration for the 2025 season will be open March 1-31, 2025 with no player enrollments accepted after March 31. The cost to participate is $55 for baseball and softball players and $35 for T-ball players. Families will only need to pay the fees for the first two players from a household. Registration and payment instructions are outlined below.
Official games for baseball and softball are slated to start the week of May 19 and run through the last week of June. If fields dry up well this spring, practices may start in mid-April with the option for some local scrimmages ahead of the official season. Baseball and softball teams will primarily compete against teams from Munising, Newberry, and Garden. T-ball practices will likely start the week of May 19 and games will be played on Saturdays during the month of June. T-ball teams will play most of their games in Manistique with the potential for a game or two in Garden.
The club will be providing each player with a team jersey and a hat. Families are responsible for purchasing GRAY pants for their baseball/softball, minors/majors/juniors-level players. Like last year, we will put bins of pants from previous years in the hallway outside the Extension Office door for families to look at and take what is needed at no cost. T-ball players may wear whatever pants/shorts they prefer.
There will be an opportunity to drop off payment and/or register in-person on provided devices on Thursday, March 6 from 5:30-7:00 pm in the Schoolcraft County MSU Extension Office (in the maintenance building next to Manistique Middle & High School, down the sidewalk past the library entrance).
Registration is a 2-step process (register in 4-H Online, pay the registration fee/submit shirt size at the MSU Extension Office). A player will not be considered registered until both steps are completed. The registration system does ask for health insurance information. If you have insurance, please have that information ready and enter it when asked during the process. If your player is not covered by insurance, you can make that selection as well.
If at any time during this process you need assistance, the quickest way to receive help is to text/call Jill Connin, Schoolcraft County 4-H Program Coordinator, at 1-906-286-3327 or a slower response via email at conninji@msu.edu. Michigan 4-H programs are part of Michigan State University and as such, if you or your player(s) needs an accommodation to participate in our program, please contact Jill Connin at least two weeks prior to the first team activity. We will do our best to have all players participate in this program to their fullest ability. Michigan State University Extension programs and materials are open to all without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, religion, age, height, weight, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, family status or veteran status.
