How to Join 4-H4-H Logo

4-H Clubs

Here is a list of active 4-H Clubs in Tuscola County.  If you would like to join one of these clubs, please contact the leader to find the club that best fits your child's interests. Clubs often participate in multiple projects like horse, beef, crops, etc. all in one club. If a club in your area lists multiple projects, do not hesitate to call the leader to find out what they do. Click here for Tips on Finding a 4-H Club.

Information and Forms

Enrollment

All returning 4-H members and volunteers must complete the 4-H online enrollment process prior to the established deadline of January 2nd. New 4-H members and volunteers must be enrolled by June 1st. This process and instructions can be located at the following website:  http://mi.4honline.com.  Enrollments received after the deadline will not be eligible to enter the Tuscola County Fair.  The parental information section needs to be completed when a member enters 4-H and updated when there are any changes. Make sure to select all project areas that you intend to enroll in.

Volunteers

New 4-H volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application which includes agreement to our Code of Conduct and consent to background checks. This process must be completed and approved by the MSU Extension office prior to becoming a 4-H volunteer.

Club Registration

Every year all 4-H clubs must complete a Club Registration Form by October 1st. A club will not be considered an active club, and members will be encouraged to join another club if this is not completed timely. They also must obtain an EIN number: How to get an EIN (guide to the IRS form SS-4)

Financial Forms and Procedures

Refer to the Financial Policies & Procedures for Treasurers and Financial Guidelines for Volunteers for guidance. Every 4-H club is required to have an Employer Identification Number (EIN) regardless of whether or not they handle money. Each club must also complete an Annual Summary Financial Report and a Club Inventory Report every year. Fundraising Request Forms must be completed by the club treasurer or 4-H leader and returned to the 4-H Program Coordinator for approval at least 10 business days before any fundraising activities can be promoted or held, and a Fundraising Report Form completed and returned within 10 business days after fundraiser.
