4-H Associations and Committees
Kalamazoo County 4-H has 4 councils to guide the county program and lead certain project areas or events. 4-H member participation is highly encouraged and many of the councils offer great leadership opportunities for youth!
Kalamazoo County 4-H Leaders Council - The Kalamazoo County 4-H Leaders Council works with 4-H staff to create county policies, oversees educational and fun activities, and holds fundraisers to support the county 4-H program. The council is made up of 4-H leaders from each community club and at large members. In addition to monthly meetings, council members are part of smaller committees that meet throughout the year. The council meets the 4th Monday of each month at 7pm. Meetings are open to all and are currently being held at the Kalamazoo County Animal Shelter on Lamont St.

Livestock Superintendents Association (LSA) – The Kalamazoo County 4-H Livestock Superintendent Association (LSA) is made up of superintendents from each livestock species. The group of volunteers provides educational opportunities for youth involved in raising and showing livestock. This group is involved in organizing the all-species educational meeting, individual species educational opportunities and the livestock auction at the Kalamazoo County Fair and Family Festival. Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of most months in Room C at the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds. Check the annual programming calendar for specific date.
Kalamazoo County Livestock Superintendents Association (LSA) By-Laws
Kalamazoo County 4-H Horse Council – The Kalamazoo County 4-H Horse Council provides educational opportunities for youth involved in the horse project. The committee is made up of volunteers within the horse project area. The horse council coordinates events in Kalamazoo County that include, but are not limited to, the tack sale, open show, clinics, and horse related fair events. Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of most months in Room C at the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds. Check the annual programming calendar for specific dates.

Kalamazoo County 4-H Dog Council – The Kalamazoo County 4-H Dog Council provides educational opportunities for youth involved in the dog project. The committee is made up of volunteers within the dog project who coordinate events in Kalamazoo. These events include, but are not limited to, educational opportunities, classroom style with and without dogs, dog training meetings and fundraising opportunities. The purpose of this group is to assist in planning, serving, guiding and promoting the 4-H dog care program in Kalamazoo County.
