Chuck and Jackie Frasier honored with 2026 CANR Dean's Pinnacle of Excellence Award
The couple will receive the 2026 CANR Dean's Pinnacle of Excellence Award during the ANR Awards on Friday, February 27.
Charles “Chuck” and Jacqueline “Jackie” Frasier will be honored with the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) Dean’s Pinnacle of Excellence Award at the February 27 ANR Awards Program.
CANR’s highest honor, this award celebrates individuals who have reached the pinnacle of achievement in their field while making transformative contributions to the college, its students and faculty and society. Created in 2023, the award recognizes distinguished leadership, service, philanthropy and global impact.
“It’s hard to put into words what Chuck and Jackie mean to us here at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources,” said CANR Dean and Associate Provost Matt Daum. “Through their extraordinary service, generosity and partnership, they have changed not only the trajectory of the School of Packaging but have made a lasting impact across the entire college and Michigan State University. They think big, inspiring a vision of excellence that propels us forward. And so that's exactly what we're doing thanks to their support.”
A distinguished alumnus who shaped the packaging industry
A 1970 graduate of MSU’s School of Packaging, Chuck Frasier built an extraordinary 50-year career in the global packaging industry. After beginning his career as a packaging engineer with General Electric International, he transitioned into sales, traveled extensively and eventually embraced entrepreneurship.
He founded Dixie Box and Crating Company, which expanded to ten port cities across the U.S. before its sale in 2005. He later established American Box and Crating in 2010, a specialized crating and logistics company supporting complex global shipping efforts—including projects such as transporting amusement park rides for Euro Disney—before retiring after its sale in 2019.
Chuck credits an introductory packaging class at MSU for changing the course of his life, shifting his major from civil engineering to packaging, an academic decision that sparked a lifetime of career success and industry leadership.
Chuck received the CANR Outstanding Alumni Award at the 2025 ANR Awards in recognition of his extraordinary professional achievements and service to CANR.
Philanthropy, service and unwavering support
Jackie Frasier has proudly embraced MSU as her adopted alma mater through her dedicated involvement with the Spartan community. Her commitment to the green‑and‑white reflects a genuine enthusiasm for MSU’s mission, values and students.
Jackie’s extraordinary philanthropic support is matched by her enduring enthusiasm for MSU and the CANR community. She remains deeply engaged with students, faculty and staff, regularly attending college events such as the Fall Tailgate, Homecoming celebrations, groundbreakings and award ceremonies. Her committed involvement and service continue to inspire the entire college community.
In 2025, Jackie received the CANR Honorary Alumni Award in recognition of her lasting contributions to the college, her dedication to student empowerment and her support for impactful causes strengthening the well-being of society.
In addition to their support for MSU, for many years, she and Chuck have invested in strengthening their community through sustained support of the Boys and Girls Club, the Salvation Army and local food banks in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Her compassion and service-minded approach also shaped the couple’s recent support for Holy Cross Health, an act grounded in gratitude and reflective of Jackie’s commitment to improving the well-being of others.
Transformative impact on MSU’s School of Packaging
In 2016, the Frasiers contacted MSU with a desire to “give back” to the institution that helped launch Chuck’s career. Their leadership gift became the catalyst for the School of Packaging’s phase 1 building renovation campaign, and they later closed the campaign with a final gift.
Their philanthropy named both the Charles L. and Jacqueline C. Frasier Sustainability Lab and the Charles L. and Jacqueline C. Frasier Atrium, two highly visible, student-centered hubs within the renovated Packaging Building. They have also committed to endowing a professorship through an estate gift, ensuring that future generations of students benefit from worldclass faculty leadership, research and innovation.
With Packaging 2.0 now underway, an expansion project that will double the size of the SoP building and significantly increase research capacity, the Frasiers have raised their hands in support of this critical investment. Furthering their legacy as the largest individual donors in the history of CANR, the Frasiers provided a lead Packagaing 2.0 campaign gift that has allowed the project to move forward and will inspire additional contributions.
Honoring a legacy of excellence
The 2026 Dean’s Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes not only what the Frasiers have done, but the enduring impact they will leave on the MSU community. Their vision, generosity and leadership continue to shape the future of CANR and its students.
Chuck and Jackie will be honored at the 2026 ANR Awards Program, where the college community will celebrate their achievements and contributions to Michigan State University and beyond.
