Michigan Apple Cost of Production 2025 report is now available
New MSU Extension bulletin shows cost breakdowns and provides estimated revenues and profits.
The Michigan Apple Cost of Production 2025 report is now available on the MSU Extension website, published as Bulletin E-3533. The executive summary describes the major numbers and trends found, while the main body of the report offers more specific details on the costs of production.
This study evaluated the main aspects of establishment and production of apples for both high-density and semidwarf systems. Costs and revenues were also analyzed based on variety groups (high-value versus mid-value varieties).
Tables are included in the report that break down the costs and potential revenues based on the different prices and yields that growers might experience. Returns on investment for different types of plantings were also calculated using the cost and price information we found.
