Kara Lynch
Kara Lynch is a Registered Dietitian and has worked for Michigan State University Extension as a Food Safety Educator since 2014.
In this role, Kara provides valuable educational programs to the community including ServSafe, Michigan Cottage Food Law, Food Preservation, Safe Food = Healthy Kids and more. She has developed creative content for various program platforms, digital and print communication assets and led grant efforts to support innovative programs such as Safe Food = Healthy Kids and the Think Food Safety campaign.
Kara holds a BS in Dietetics from Michigan State University, obtained her dietetic internship from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and her Master’s in Nutrition from Central Michigan University. Kara worked in the clinical field of renal nutrition for many years before coming to MSU Extension. She has received many professional awards, notably for her work done with Safe Food = Healthy Kids and Think Food Safety.
