MSU Heads to ASABE Annual International Meeting

Day 1 - July 15

  • Opening Session: Jiajun Xu, Yuzhen Lu, and Boyang Deng were recognized with a Superior Paper Award for one of their publications in the Journal of ASABE.
  • The MSU Fountain War Team assembled, tested, and presented their system in the outdoor competition against other universities. (Results announced Wed)
  • The MSU Robotics Team represented in two days of system testing and competition. (Results announced Wed)
  • MSU BAE students, staff, and faculty presented 20 oral and/or poster presentations (just in the first day!).
  • There was an amazing “Green Wave” of Spartans (over 42!) wearing their MSU BAE green polo shirts in Toronto. MSU was visible and noticed!

Day 2 - July 16

  • Undergrads Megan Ransler and Caden Wade gave outstanding presentations today as finalists in the K.K. Barnes Student Paper Award Competition (results announced on Wed).
  • MSU BAE students, staff, and faculty presented 24 oral and/or poster presentations on Day 2 of the meeting, including multiple graduate students being evaluated for the oral and poster competitions (results unfortunately not announced until after the meeting).

Day 3 - July 17

  • The ASABE Annual International Meeting wrapped up today with the Awards Banquet.
  • Dr. Yuzhen Lu was recognized as the winner of the New Holland Young Researcher Award, a major ASABE award.
  • Congratulations to Shivani Rana, who placed 2nd in the Boyd-Scott M.S. Graduate Paper Award!
  • Additional congratulations to Caden Wade and Megan Ransler, who placed 2nd and 3rd in the K.K. Barnes Student Paper Award Competition.
  • Thank you to all BAE personnel who represented MSU so well in Toronto. We are looking forward to an even larger MSU turnout and impact at ASABE 2026 in Indianapolis!
