Felicia Wu receives William C. Frazier Award in Food Safety

Felicia Wu, John A. Hannah Distinguished Professor and University Distinguished Professor at Michigan State University, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 William C. Frazier Award in Food Safety.
Established in 1991 to honor the legacy of Dr. William C. Frazier, a pioneer in food microbiology, the award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to food safety and microbiology. It is presented annually and co-sponsored by the Food Research Institute and the University of Wisconsin-Madison departments of bacteriology and food science.
Wu will accept the award and deliver the William C. Frazier Memorial Lecture on May 12, 2026, as part of the Food Research Institute’s annual meeting. Her lecture will focus on her work with the World Health Organization (WHO) on food-based dietary guidelines, drawing on her service on the WHO committee responsible for developing global dietary guidance.
Wu’s selection reflects her international leadership in food safety, risk assessment and public health, as well as her ongoing contributions to science-based food policy at the global level.
