How did the FSHN study abroad scholarship funds you received helped enhance your experience within your major?
The study abroad scholarship funds greatly enhanced my experience as a Nutritional Sciences student by allowing me to participate in an immersive learning opportunity that connected nutrition concepts learned in the classroom to real-world situations. During my time abroad, I observed how traditional dietary patterns, food systems, and cultural values influence nutrition and health. Experiencing different cuisines and practices firsthand helped me better understand the relationship between nutrition, culture, and public health.

The program also encouraged me to think critically about global nutrition challenges and the factors that shape dietary habits. These experiences strengthened my academic understanding of nutrition while expanding my cultural awareness and adaptability skills. As someone pursuing a career in healthcare, gaining a broader perspective on nutrition and health in diverse communities was very valuable. The scholarship reduced financial barriers and made it possible for me to fully engage in this educational experience, which has contributed to both my personal growth and professional development.
